First of all let me welcome new and old visitors to my travel blog.
When you meet someone on holiday, how often does the subject of the price paid for the holiday arise?
A long time ago I so wanted to go on a cruise, so went into a certain High Street travel agent just out of interest. They had an offer on and I enquired about it. "Oh there is very little room left on that ship so you will have to book it soon or you will lose it", the women in the agency said. In light of this I contacted my hubby who was on a course and it was agreed I should book it so we would not lose the cruise. Well you can imagine how I felt when finally on the ship and the subject got around to the cost and when people booked. I had booked the cruise long before any of those we chatted to, and we chatted to many others cruising with us. Well, 'once bitten and twice shy' the saying goes. Nowadays as we chat to other holidaymakers it is no longer us that have paid the most. I have to conceed that a small number have paid less for the holiday than we had.
A close friend wanted to go to Malta and went into a travel agent and booked a holiday on the advice of the agent. The hotel that had been booked was not in the ideal location and thus I went with them back into the travel agent and got them to change the hotel to a much more suitable location.
A few years ago I went to a holiday camp with a group of pensioners that included my great aunt. What an experience it was. However another camper made the comment that he loved the place. My husband then made me laugh when he said if asked, if this camper had holidayed anywhere else the trply would have been NO.
So this blog is to try and help you have a great holiday while helping save some money.
