Mentioned about cheap holidays on school run and one the mums asked what I could get for October/November for family which would be two adults and two children (between 2 and 11).
So my initial search begins as per the normal with teletext holidays and the cheapest is at the Vistamar apartments for £379 which would include the school holiday. There is a big jump to £531 for the Fiesta Hotel and upwards for other hotels. On top of these prices may well be the transfers and also carriage on the aeroplane. Note that the all inclusive deal at the Vistamar will be at the nearby Flamingo Benidorm hotel.
I better start adding some additional details for all the hotels found in Benidorm since many people have never been.

While looking up cheap holidays to Turkey I noticed seveal other cheap holidays and this one to Corfu from Gatwick took my eye. 1st June 2009 to 8th June 2009 for 7 nights, 2 Adults, £709.55
BookMe2 had this to say on the hotel.
The Ambiente Palace Hotel, Pelekas is hidden away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This 5* hotel is set against the picturesque mountainside of Pelekas and has fantastic views across Yaliscari Bay. The Yaliskari area has one of the most beatuiful sunsets in the whole of the Med and is also close to "Kaizer's Throne" - rated to be the most amazing view in Greece from many travel guides. Will suit couples of any age, especially those who enjoy walking, and anyone wanting a peaceful holiday in tranquil surroundings. The dramatic hillside setting gives rise to stunning views, however the hotel is not suitable for the less mobile because of the steep inclines. Located 500 metres from the beach down a steep hill, 300 metres up a steep hill to the nearest tavernas and mini-market and the village of Sinarades is 2.6 km and Pelekas is 4.3 km.

Unlike other times of the year, Christmas and New Year cruises tend to get booked up pretty early and thus very unlikely to be available for a cheap rate. This however may not always be the case and there could be last minute availability on some cruises providing that air travel is available.
Christmas is a wonderful time if you have children and enjoy the hustle and bustle of supermarket shopping where people are buying food to last a month. On the TV re-runs of those classic films of yesteryear. Dark nights, cold days and often miserable damp weather to enjoy too. So if the Christmas and New Year period is a time of promise that is never truly fulfilled then perhaps you like me you want to enjoy the season then perhaps a cruise maybe the answer.
Thomson Celebration are in the Red Sea this winter and although the itineray of the voyage is only a week, two week deals are available. Your Christmas would begin by travelling to Sharm El Sheikh Egypt, on the Eve of Christmas. Spend the time wisely getting to know the ship before the deck party in the evening as you watch Sharm shrink behind you.
Aqaba is the next port of call and excurions have in the past included a trip to the ancient city of Petra, high in the mountains. Be warned that you could need winter clothing to visit since it can be cold and only a few years back it actually snowed. The Dead Sea is another popular excursion due to the high salt level it is an easy place to swim. The salts of the dead sea are used by many for skin conditions. A traditional Christmas Dinner will normallty be served with al the usual trimmings.
After two days in Aqaba you set sail to Port Sokhna which is the stopping point for excursions to Cairo.
Two days are spent in Safaga. Excursions are again required to take you to Luxor or Hurghada.
Finally you are back in Sharm El Sheikh and you might have time to go on the submarine in the next bay before departing home if only on for 7 days.
Overall this is not a cheap cruise since mosts of the ports are what can be described as industrial with little to do unless you take an excursion or do not mind the day time ship activities. Excursions are generally 2-3 hours coach rides distance and can become very expensive.

Teletext Holidays Online
Teletext holidays is the ideal first place to begin your search for a cheap holiday since many smaller travel agents can be found on there. 30% savings on a similar package holiday to the same hotel can be obtained.
I know Benidorm seems to be mentioned a lot, this is because it is still popular with British Tourists.
A look for a 14 day holiday in Benidorm on an all inclusive package was being sort showed that the major travel companies where offering prices at around £700 while Hello Holidays on Teletext holidays came back with a price of £471, so with Benidorm transfers in would be still under £500 cheaper. So what would you get different for the price?
The only difference I can see is in that at Alicante airport you would not be met by a tour company representive so would have to find your own way to the shuttle bus. On the shuttle bus you would not be given information about your stay in the resort. At the resort you would not be given information as to the different excursions you could go on. The shuttle bus times are posted on a smaller board in the reception area.
